He’s searching for a sign. She’s trying her best to ignore them.
Axel Williams walked away from a military career to throw himself into a family project that no longer exists. Now the big man is left adrift and looking for some sign of what to do next. When he offers to volunteer at the neighborhood veterans’ center and they send him to the local elementary school to lead a session on flag football, Axel figures he’s hit rock bottom. Eden Wilder made a big mistake the last time she followed her heart. But she’s learned to stop seeing signs everywhere, and focus on living a sensible life with her eight-year-old son, Jack, and her amazing new job teaching fifth grade in the beautiful, rural community of Trinity Falls. When the town’s favorite former tight end starts teaching flag football during gym class, Eden manages to mostly ignore his rugged good looks, even though none of the other teachers can seem to stop whispering about the big hunk and how cute he is with the kids. But then Axel takes an interest in a starstruck Jack and offers to spend extra time with him, and suddenly Eden can’t say no. From throwing a football around outside, to attending town holiday activities, to dreaming up a project that just might bring a smile to a lot of kids’ faces, the three of them start sharing more and more time together. But when Axel realizes what the universe is trying to tell him, will he be able to convince Eden that a dependable man can make her life better? Or will her determination never to fall in love again prevent the Christmas miracle little Jack has been wishing for? |
